How should this medicine be used?
Nasonex comes as a spray to inhale through the nose. It is usually sprayed once a day in each nostril. To help you remember to use Nasonex nasal inhalation, use it around the same time every day. Foll
ow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use Nasonex nasal inhalation exactly as directed. Do not use more o
r less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Shake the pump well before each use.
Do not spray Nasonex nasal inhalation into the eyes.
For the preventio
n of nasal symptoms of seasonal allergies, begin using Nasonex nasal inhalation 2--4 weeks before the beginning of the pollen season.

Drug Interactions
Tell your health care professional if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) medicines, such as:
- Ephedrine or
- Phenobarbital or
- Rifampin (e
.g., Rifadin)¡XEphedrine, phenobarbital, and rifampin may decrease the blood levels of nasal Nasonex, such as dexamethasone, warranting an increase in corticosteroid dose

What side effects can this medication cause?
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
- Bad smell; blindness; bloody mucus or unexplained nosebleeds; blurred or gradual loss of vision; b
urning or stinging after use of spray or irritation inside nose (continuing); crusting, white patches, or sores inside nose; discharge or redness in eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid; eye
pain; headache; hives ; light-headedness or dizziness; loss of sense of taste or smell; muscle pain; nausea or vomiting; ringing in the ears ; shortness of breath; skin rash; sore throat, co
ugh, or hoarseness; stomach pains; stuffy, dry, or runny nose or watery eyes (continuing); swelling of eyelids, face, or lips;

What is this medicine
Mometasone nasal inhalation is used for the treatment and prevention of nasal symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, and itchy nose. Mometasone nasal inhalation
is in a class of medications called topical steroids. It works by reducing inflammation (swelling) in the nasal passages.

Other medical problems
Breast-feeding¡XUse of dexamethasone is not recommended in nursing mothers, since dexamethasone passes into breast milk and may affect the infant's growth.
It is not known whether beclomethasone, b
desonide, flunisolide, Nasonex or triamcinolone passes into breast milk. Although most medicines pass into breast milk in small amounts, many of them may be used safely while breast-feeding. Levels of
mometasone are not measurable in breast milk, thus exposure is expected to be low. Mothers who are taking these medicines and wish to breast-feed should discuss them with their doctor.

Symptoms of overdose
A single overdose of Nasonex is unlikely to cause any harm. However, habitual overuse of the product can cause symptoms of steroid overload, including menstrual irregularities, acne, obesity, and musc
le weakness. Check with your doctor immediately if you develop such symptoms.
